[Hartley grabs some napkins and then pulls a pen out of his pocket so he can start taking notes. He doesn't want to forget any of this.]

So that's a ten year age difference. What year is it where you're from?

[Hartley points towards a fancy looking glass house.]

Me too. I want to know what kind crap he feeds the Flash to make him forgive so easily.

It's even more ostentatious than I imagined.

[ He grins. ]

Can you blow it up from here?

[He pulls his gloves on and shoots Piper a smirk.]

We're close enough, yes. It's almost too bad Harrison isn't home. I wonder if he'd be able to avoid the glass a second time. Ready?

—Wait. Hang on a second.

[ He adjusts the gains on his aids one more time, then takes out his flute and plays a long, high note for a minute. ]

He had glass break sensors. Now he doesn't.

[timetopaythepiper]

[He stares at Piper for a moment, wondering if Harrison knew he wouldn't be able to resist coming back at some point.]

How could you tell?

[ He turns his hearing aids back down. ]

I could hear it. Very subtle vibrational frequency monitoring the frequency of the glass. If the glass breaks, it matches the frequency it puts out, and trips the alarm, which I imagine would have the Flash on us in seconds.

Looks like he thought you might pay him another visit.

[He files away that information for later. He doubts he'll come back here, but he'd like to be prepared if he does.]

He's going to be surprised when I don't follow this up by attacking the Flash or my parents' office building again. He's going to find a way to make this about him.

I don't suppose leaving a note reading "no, not everything is about you" would help?

No more than a "you don't know me as well as you think you do" note would.

[But just in case, he might consider laying low again for a little while after this.]

Absolutely.

[Hartley adjusts his gloves' frequency before raising his arms. Harrison's windows shatter and his ceiling falls to the floor in shards of glass. He causes as much destruction as possible (even more destruction than the first time) without bringing the whole building down. What's left of Harrison's home and yard is covered in glass. It might take a while for him to get it all cleaned up.]

You have no idea how satisfying that was.

It was pretty satisfying just to watch.

We should get out of here before someone calls the police... but if we ever get the chance to do this again, do you want to give the gloves a try?

You said you have somewhere you practice with them, right? Would you mind if I gave them a try there?

[He gives the mess he's made of Harrison's house one more satisfied glance before heading back for the car.]

Not at all. We're already out. We could go now if you want.

[ He follows him, still keeping an ear out for any witnesses or incoming speedsters. ]

Sounds fine to me.

It's a bit of a drive from here, but it'll be worth it. The entire area's been abandoned, so there's plenty of space to practice without being heard.

Good. I'm looking forward to getting a feel for how they work.

[timetopaythepiper]

I'll make sure they're at their lowest frequency until you get the hang of them.

[Hartley gets in the car and starts it up.]

How many settings do they have, anyway?

Not as many as my last ones... the ones Harrison destroyed. These are still a work in progress. I don't think we'll need to use the highest setting tonight.

[Because he's still not sure he wants Piper to know just how much damage the gloves can cause. He'll just vague things up a bit for now.]

That's fine. I'm curious about the highest setting, but not that curious. No need to draw unwanted attention.

It's definitely best to avoid the highest setting. It's a bit... dangerous.
